JoyRide Atomic for Home Entertainment

JoyRide Atomic for Event Management

The Atomic is unique. Its innovative, patented technology delivers a compact motion simulator which integrates flexibly into your home entertainment system or event management portfoilio, yet delivers a truly realistic ride experience that aims to match the large simulators found at event halls. The Atomic is designed for gaming and professional simulation training and can be configured as a single unit or multi-rider set up.

What is a motion simulator?

A motion simulator aims to reproduce the physical sensation of movement you experience when you sit in a moving vehicle. Whether a racing car, an aeroplane, or a rollercoaster, the simulator moves in all directions to make you feel as if you are actually sitting in the vehicle seat itself. With the increasingly sophisticated graphics of computer games, and their realistic sounds, the addition of motion to the ride makes for an incredibly realistic and immersive gaming, or training experience.

What's special about the JoyRide Atomic?

  • The unique engineering inside the Atomic's base delivers an exceptional ride in a compact and transportable unit
  • It can be used with any screen configuration - a television, PC monitor, full immersion screen set up
  • The flexible configuration lends it to multi-seat racing events as well as single seat home use
  • It's tool-less adjustability gives a comfortable ride to both adults and children.
  • The bundled SIMPHYNITY software gives access to over 70 games

Why choose the JoyRide Atomic?

  • Unlike some of our competitor's systems which are designed and built by enthusiasts with little more than a DIY home motion simulator background, the Atomic has been scrupulously and uncompromisingly designed from the ground up over a two year period by a highly experienced team with over 30 years combined professional mechanical, software and electronic engineering expertise.  You can be confident our systems are low maintenance and built to withstand heavy commercial use over long periods of time with no duty cycle restrictions.
  • All moving assemblies consist of almost entirely off-the-shelf commercial parts and high-quality professional actuators, manufactured by long-established companies and commonly used in many different industries worldwide.  This helps ensure no future part-sourcing issues, be it inside or outside your warranty period.
  • All our systems are fully CE compliant, featuring various integrated mechanical and electrical safety mechanisms to facilitate safe operation.
  • Screen and motion system are seperated, presenting significant advantages with no perceivable difference to motion realism.  While certain manufacturers may state this is an unrealistic approach, a combination of extensive research, experimentation and user testimonials have demonstrated this to be wholly untrue;  Our A-Series motion systems are already established as the simulator of choice for a large number of professional users, commercial operators and serious simulation enthusiasts worldwide.  For further information regarding the benefits offered by this approach, check out ForceAssistTM Technology In-Depth.
  • Our fully user-configurable software algorithms ensure exceptional motion response and detail, tweakable according to your preferences.  Our systems feature an ultra-low latency 100Hz motion update, meaning bumps, gear changes, road/runway surface detail and flight turbulence are all faithfully reproduced resulting in a highly exhilarating ride experience.
  • Beware of manufacturers utilizing existing large-payload motion platforms to form the basis of 'ad-hoc' personal motion systems.  These platforms are usually extremely heavy and very power-hungry, having originally been intended to move far greater payloads - they are geared for brute force power rather than high speed & realism.  As a result, they are hugely over-specified and less suitable for the task at hand, and above all very expensive;  Because of this, other important factors pertaining to rigidity, realism and adjustability are compromised to allow these manufacturers to keep their prices competitive.  In particular cheap, heavy materials such as MDF or welded steel (instead of lightweight yet strong aluminium) are commonly used to form upper table structures supporting the user and/or system components, presenting the following problems:-

    • Sluggish performance and increased power requirement due to the addition of huge amounts of unnecessary weight.
    • Highly undesirable and unrealistic chassis flex/wobble as a direct result of motion inertia/recoil, particular in highly dynamic applications such as racing.
    • Mediocre user/controller adjustment mechanisms, restricting the choice of driving position and limiting flexibility for users of varying heights.

All of these problems can frequently be observed in demonstration videos for these products, which highlight the major pitfalls of such an approach.

Every component of the Atomic has been painstakingly harmonized to achieve exceptional performance, rigidity and adjustability in a highly-compact and incredibly power-efficient system. We have made no compromises on performance, material quality or adjustability, and the result is an exceptionally well-balanced system which delivers an incredible ride experience. If in any doubt about the right system for you, don't just take our word for it - contact us today to arrange a test drive, we're confident you will not find another system that even comes close to matching the Atomic's price/performance ratio!

The truly realistic ride experience is down to the Atomic's unique engineering...

Force & Acceleration: JoyRide's ForceAssistTM technology produces up to a staggering 10x more force and acceleration than systems with similar motor power or power consumption

Movement Range: The huge 27 degree dual-axis movement range can simulate even the most daring of rides

Feel the Road: JoyRide's RealFeelTM dynamic motion control system delivers an exceptionally realistic ride, allowing you to feel every bump & detail in the road

Responsiveness: The powerful optional TTi tactile transducer system reproduces even small vibrations so you can feel everything, right down to the revs of your engine
